Chicken or beef
shawarma?
Two spits turn side by side all day and this is the question we get most. Here is the honest comparison, including when the mix is the right answer.
The one-line version
Chicken is lighter, brighter and garlicky. Beef is richer, deeper and more savoury. If you want lunch you can walk off, chicken. If you want the meal to feel like dinner, beef.
Chicken shawarma
Marinated in garlic, lemon, cumin and coriander. It comes off the spit pale gold with crisp edges, and it goes with garlic sauce — that combination is the single most ordered thing we make.
- Sandwich $9.99 · bowl $12.99 · Arabic-style plate $13.99
- Leaner, so it suits a bowl over rice where the sauce does the work
- The safe order for someone who has never had shawarma
Beef shawarma
A deeper spice mix — more cardamom, more black pepper — and the fat renders through the stack as it turns, which is why the edges taste almost roasted. It is served with tahini rather than garlic sauce, plus onion, tomato and parsley.
- Sandwich $10.99 · bowl $13.99 · Arabic-style plate $14.99
- Richer, so it holds up on a plate with rice and hummus
- The order for someone who already knows they like shawarma
When to order the mix instead
Shawarma Mix, $11.99. Beef and chicken in the same wrap with tahini, garlic sauce and mozzarella. It is not a compromise order — the two marinades read differently in the same bite, and the cheese pulls them together.
On a plate, Mix Arabic Style is $15.99. That is the one to get if you are sharing.
Feeding a group that cannot agree
Order both. Catering trays serve 10 to 12 and you can put a chicken tray next to a beef tray, which costs the same as two of either. Main trays run $89.99 to $109.99 — see how much halal catering costs per person before you decide how many trays you need.
